Nick Frühling
Graphic Designer-Vancouver
Nick Frühling grew up in a family of artists. With both
parents consistently creating and teaching art, a love for creative expression
was naturally instilled in him from the very beginning. In a house full of
painting supplies, sketch books, home video cameras, and one of the first
Macintosh computers, this creativity thrived, evolving easily into the design
of overly-detailed book report cover pages, high school yearbooks, band logos
for friends and posters for local events.
Nick works full-time as a graphic designer, media maker, and IT artist while
keeping close to his roots in Vancouver, British Columbia. After attending the
Graphic Design & Illustration program at Capilano University, Nick worked
at a design agency, honing his production skills and specializing in graphic
communications and print.
When he isn’t creating one-of-a-kind design pieces for Idea
Works’ happy clients, Nick is the program assistant to the Graphic Design for Marketing program at Kwantlen Polytechnic
University. This takes him from supporting the needs of 80 students, 50 Macs,
10 faculty and the marketing of a degree program to a cozy home office with 3
cute distractions: his wife and sons.

Andrew Lee
Video Producer, Motionographer, Creative Thinker
A strong foundation in graphic design and communication from the University of South Florida gave Andrew a unique perspective when he began crafting videos in 2004. As technology continued to change at a lightning fast pace, Andrew noticed the fusion of design trends across a variety of mediums — print design was looking more like web design, web elements were showing up in TV commercials, and traditional static media, such as billboards, were becoming interactive. As internet speed increased, and social media took the world by storm, Andrew knew that the future of advertising would truly be a personalized and interactive multimedia experience. With this in mind, he began to immerse himself in every design medium and communication outlet imaginable.
In 2004, Andrew cut his teeth in the production world on the filming, editing, and production of hundreds of local TV commercials for various clients and studios. In 2006, he passionately pursued an idea to produce a feature-length documentary film he titled, Easy Street. Armed with a small HD camera, and with literally no budget, Andrew spent one year documenting the lives of five homeless people as they struggled through life on the streets. Easy Street received unexpected national acclaim, and was picked up by Netflix soon thereafter.
In 2007 Andrew formed Roundhouse Creative, and focused his efforts on offering motion graphics and animation services — a niche he noticed was lacking in the Tampa Bay Area. Roundhouse was soon commissioned by Bright House Networks to help produce The Connext Project: The Bay Area’s first live event showcasing the latest cutting edge motion graphics, music, and animation from around the world. From the success of the Connext Project, Andrew became a sought after producer for innovative videos and multimedia messaging. Today, Andrew and the Roundhouse team hold multiple awards and honors in the industry, with the most recent four Telly Awards won in 2011.
Andrew now manages Roundhouse Creative Studio with fellow designer and wife, Brooke Webster. Together they oversee a talented team of writers, producers, cinematographers, editors, animators, and other production specialists. Their latest venture has been the strategic partnership with Idea Works Creative Group, where they now combine specialties to provide clients with a truly comprehensive creative approach.

|
Take a Listen to Idea Works' Official Music Reel, Created by Our Master Composer, Dave Velez. |
A native of Puerto Rico and long-time resident of the Tampa Bay area (both oozing with musical culture and history), rhythm and melody were instant fixtures in Dave’s life, from day one. The son of a professional musician, he recalls “hanging around” his father’s recording studio and at live performances as a toddler in a crib, just soaking in all sorts of musical genres and projects. As he discovered and honed in on his own musical abilities, Dave realized he not only shared his father’s musical passions and talents, but learned he could easily play “by ear,” a highly-sought after skill some musicians work a lifetime to master. This ability allows him to play a wide variety of instruments and styles very well.
Dave’s credits include performing at live events, including many years of professionally accompanying Latin Grammy Award-winning salsa artist Bobby Cruz and producing full albums of music for a wide-range of clients. Dave’s work has also been profiled on national and international television broadcasts including networks such as A&E, Animal Planet, The National Geographic Channel, G4, SpikeTV and The Fox Sports Network, to name a few. He has had compositions played and discussed at Adobe Software’s AdobeMax Conference in San Francisco, California, Tokyo, Japan and in Italy, where one of Adobe Software’s chief officers sung Dave’s praises. Additionally, he has also enjoyed creating custom musical compositions for multiple online games.
His professional accomplishments and multi-dimensional musical capabilities make Dave the ideal fit for the Idea Works Creative team.
